Crawling!

So Madison has been toying with movement for a few weeks now, but just couldn't seem to move forward. She either moved backwards which was too funny or she would just end up rocking back and forth on all fours. Well, last night she started doing this tripod move and this afternoon she started moving forward. Within minutes she was everywhere and we were putting things away. Taylor was very proud of her until she got her hands on Special Bunny. Watch out, the fun now commences.

Hiking in Colorado with Two Kids 3 and Under!

We have been trying to desperately get out into the outdoors more and do our favorite passion.... HIKING. This has definitely been a little tougher with two little ones, but if you change your expectations, it can all be great. Taylor hikes a little more on his own and he even now has his own CamelBack! How cool is that. Madison loves the outdoors and everything there is to look at. She even starts babbling when the wind blows through her hair.... OK over her head :-) Here are some pics of Dad and Taylor on the Stanley Canyon hike with friends (his first water crossing). The others are the family out at Devils Head Trail. Taylor climbed all the way up to the Devil's Head Fire Tower!

I can't believe it is 50 degrees and rainy in June. Oh well... it gives us a chance to just chill out at home. Taylor is having fun watching the Wizard of Oz and and Madison is still dabbling with Crawling. She is cracking us up because she keeps going backwards. It is just too crazy. She will get there. Mom took the time to take some photos of Madison, given she is feeling the pains of neglecting the milestones of her second child. Hopefully we won't be heartbroken forever!

In Late May, Mommy and Madison headed to Austin to celebrate Aunt Dana's Graduation and see some family. We had soooo much fun and Madison was such a good baby. She was good everywhere we took her (even happy hour). Now I am sure that had nothing to do with the fact that there was constantly someone giving here love and affection :-)

Fun at the Zoo. Late Spring

Taylor took his first Pony Ride (OF HIS LIFE) this spring at the Zoo. IT seems he's not as scared of things andis willing to try things that his friends want to try. We have also gone to the zoo with Sophia and Julia. Unfortunately, we still have had some screaming fits about not getting our way. It was quite the riotthat he seemed to think we had to go see the Bears first, despite the fact that they are all the way to theback of the zoo. CRAZY.. But we all had fun and got over it, once we learned to speak the same language.

The Wagner's visited again in Early May. They claim Madison won't know them otherwise. That may be true... but it is ok to admit you just want to see the grandkids again. I am not sure she yet remembers them, but I know she loves it whenever she sees any of the grandparents. We had some more fun at the zoo and enjoyed the new Exhibits. The bears were splashing like crazy.

Roller Skating, Soccer, and Finger Foods

In April we tried a few new things. Taylor went Roller Skating at the PIXIE class and actually enjoyed it. Well, that is until he got a bloody lip. But he recovered quickly with lemonade and then dance the morning away on the sidelines while watching the disco ball spin on the rink. We also started soccer at the YMCA which was crazy. It is hard to get a three year old's attention span for 5 minutes, let alone for one hour with howling winds and cold temperatures. Kevin was worried about him not wanting to kick the ball into the goal. I just reminded myself of the movie Uncle Buck... "[s] he is a twiddler, a dreamer, a silly heart" They are just three... it doesn't mean he won't be a good athlete. Madison started dabbling with finger foods, but still prefers her purees!
